Singer / Song writer
Rev.Suzue was born in Sao Paulo, Brazil, and raised in Tokyo, Aomori and Kobe, Japan. Her original music, for which she writes lyrics and composes, incorporates Western instruments and gagaku instruments such as koto, dragon flute, and kagura bells to create a unique musical world, and she sings about gratitude and conflicts that arise in the "relationship between nature and humans" and "between humans and humans, She has received tremendous support as a singer in the Shinto priesthood. In 2002, she released her first album,"Umashiashikabi", which received critical acclaim in the press. In January 2006, she moved to New York as a goodwill ambassador priestess to propagate Japanese Shinto culture. 2007, She performed at the 8th World Congress of the World Conference of Religions for Peace (WCRP) and gave a recital at Carnegie Hall (NYC) , where she received a standing ovation, proving that her musicality knows no borders. She has deeply impressed people both at home and abroad, including a successful concert in Sao Paulo, Brazil to commemorate the 100th anniversary of immigration, and a performance at the opening ceremony of the Vladivostok Biennale in Russia the following year, which was highly praised by the local media.
Her activities are diverse, including parent-child concerts featuring shoka, children's songs, and hand-play songs, and lectures on "Kojiki," a unique interpretation focusing on motherhood.
She received the Shinto Culture Award from the Shinto Culture Association. She writes a series of articles, "Yashiro ni Moufu" (Thoughts on the Shrine), in the Jinja Shimpo newspaper. She is related to Inazo Nitobe, author of Bushido and the old 5,000 yen bill.
She collaborated as a singer on the new album of the Grammy-nominated world-music group 1 Giant Leap, entitled " What About Me? ", which released worldwide in the summer of 2008. She released her 2nd album,"Konohanasakuya", in 2009.
Inspired by her poetic interaction with mountains, rivers, flowers and trees, she sings about the relationship between nature and humans, as well as the inner dimensions of human nature, so as to kindle in the people of Japan and around the world a sense of awe and appreciation for life.
In 2017, she released "Mitama no Fuyu " 3rd album that Suzue’s 15th Anniversary.
In 2019, she released "Kokoro no Furusato - Songs of Japan," an album of children's songs produced by Toshio Kadomatsu as a commemorative project for the Imperial Grand Ceremony. In 2020, she made major label Universal Music Japan debut with "Rakuen" produced by Seikou Nagaoka. In the same year, her first collection of essays "Kotobama no Hibiki" was published by Jinja Shimpo Books. In 2021, she held "Kokoro no Furusato" concerts in Kobe and Tokyo under the Agency for Cultural Affairs Art Support Program "AFF". In 2022, she celebrated the 20th anniversary of her activities and released her latest work, 4th album "Kukuri.

Shinto Priestess
Ono Hachiman Shrine Priestess. With relatives who are Buddhist monks and pastors, Suzue was raised in an environment where religious dialogue came naturally to her from an early age. From the time she was in elementary school, she lived in the shrine office as a miko (shrine maiden), assisting her father, the chief priest, during her impressionable years.
After graduating from a Catholic high school, she completed the priesthood training course at Kokugakuin University. She qualify the rank of gonseikai. She studied Gagaku (traditional Japanese court music) on the Ryuteki (dragon flute) and Sho (reed pipe). Received a diploma of KAGURA "Urayasu-no-mai" (sacred dance of Urayasu) from the Shrine Music Society. In 2006, she moved to New York City as a Shinto priest and singer to promote Japanese culture and customs, and as the only Shinto priest on the East Coast, she has been engaged in dialogue activities and rituals with various religions in New York City. She has been focusing on building bridges between Japan and other countries under the theme of "Harmony of Diversity". She has been involved in organizing Japanese festivals and portable shrine-MIKOSHI processions overseas with Nobuya Miyata of Asudasuki. 2018:Japan festival in Slovenia. In 2018, she organized a portable shrine procession in Slovenia, and the following year in Bulgaria. Through the reconstruction of Ono-Hachiman Shrine, she successfully put into practice the "TOKOWAKA Project," which aims to pass on unchanging prayers in an environment that is changing due to urban development. Participated as a guest lecturer in the "Lecture on the Essence and Essence of Shinto" with Prof. Sadasumi Motegi, Professor Emeritus of Kokugakuin University, as the main lecturer.
